CICPA Requirements for Companies and Equipment: Oil & Gas Field Compliance (UAE)

What CICPA requires from companies and equipment to work on oil and gas fields in the UAE: documentation, maintenance, safety, and how to stay audit-ready.

Meeting CICPA requirements means your company and your equipment are allowed on oil and gas sites. Miss one requirement and you’re turned away at the gate or pulled off the job.

Requirements typically cover: company registration and capability, HSE systems, insurance, and — for equipment — maintenance records, inspections, and compliance with technical and safety standards. Exact checklists depend on the operator; here’s a practical view of what to have in place.

Company-level requirements

  • Valid company registration and trade license
  • HSE policy and procedures aligned with operator expectations
  • Insurance (e.g. liability, assets) as specified
  • Competent personnel and training records
  • Evidence of past performance or prequalification where required

Equipment-level requirements

  • Equipment identified and listed (asset register)
  • Current certification or approval status per asset
  • Inspection and maintenance history
  • Expiry dates for any time-bound certs (e.g. pressure, lifting, electrical)

Tracking this per asset is easier with a proper license and compliance tracking and document management setup.

Maintenance and inspection records

Oil and gas operators expect proof that equipment is maintained and fit for use. That means scheduled preventive maintenance, completed inspections, and records that show what was done, when, and by whom. An audit trail for maintenance and inspections is essential for CICPA and similar frameworks.

How software helps CICPA compliance

Centralised asset lists, document storage, maintenance schedules, and expiry alerts reduce the chance of sending uncertified or out-of-date equipment to site. Use systems that support document management and reporting so you can produce evidence quickly when operators or auditors ask.
